Impact has worked with various companies around the world that are tirelessly campaigning for 'zero waste' operations and reducing the amount of materials ending in landfill to an absolute minimum.

The energy from waste sector plays a huge part in this campaign using methods such as residual waste being collected as a potential fuel. Impact's waste separation solutions, in particular, the ZAC800, processes this otherwise waste product destined for landfill and removes solid contaminants to leave a highly calorific RDF material which can be burned as a fuel source.

Impact has also provided dust control solutions for many energy from waste services, including a dust control system at a Gasification Works and at a Power Station in Hull (see case study).

Energy from Waste (EfW) Facility - Dust Control

Impact Air Systems was selected to design and install numerous air system components and a centralised dust control system at the MPT (Mechanical Pre-Treatment) facility in Hull, UK. The power station will be processing typical SRF/RDF material to ensure that it meets a very tight specification, allowing the finished material to be fed into a gasification process where it will be burned as a fuel to produce electricity.
